山椒の木肌には、野趣あふれるなかにも優しい味わいがあります。木肌の下の木地は非常にきめ細やかで、すべすべとした触り心地です。東屋のすりこぎは和歌山県の有田川町産の国産の山椒の木を使い、紐は京都の組紐を使用。
